After a mention on Feministing, I suddenly realized something (and rthstewart , you'll appreciate this especially, though you may have already known.) The conservative organization Clare Booth Luce Policy Institute (CBLPI) that prominently encourages women to pursue traditional gender roles and promotes Sarah Palin (for what, I don't know, the woman's unemployed, isn't she?) is the same Clare Booth Luce that was so anti-British and isolationist during World War II. The same Clare Booth Luce that is mentioned in The Irregulars: Roald Dahl and the British Spy Ring in Wartime Washington:

The air negotiations promised to be an ongoing source of turbulence and were something the War Cabinet would need to consider. Perhaps in response to what their founder did to poor British spies, the CBLPI has produced Sense and Sexuality: The College Girl's Guide to Real Protection in a Hooked-Up World. This book wants to make sure that you know that men have no emotions, whereas women who have sex have no decision-making ability and MAY GET CANCER. It may also jeopardize your abilities to have children later on, which of course you want, if you are a Real Woman. Just so you know. *nods*
