need fic recs

Is there any Nine/Martha fic around? I would love to read some, if somebody could rec it... I just think that Martha, who's got a bit of snark and questioning personality to her when she wants to, could really interact well with the Ninth Doctor.

Especially since it wouldn't be totally overshadowed by the Ten!Infatuation.

Hmm, maybe I should have said Nine & Martha fic? That's what I meant, anyhow.

But yeah... see, Martha's first response to the Doctor's identity was, "I'll be a doctor too, if I ever pass my exams. You have to earn that title, far as I'm concerned." And that idea could have defined their relationship. Except Martha got distracted by Teh Cute and softened her a lot. I think that Nine's more obvious hardness rather than Ten's undercover darkness might have brought out more interesting things about Martha. All just idle speculation, of course.

Hee. No, I completely understand. It just brought back memories of a fic that I had accidentally stumbled upon that was nine/martha and I was crying in the corner for a week. I can't even remember where I found it.

But yes, I can see how that dynamic would be interesting.

I started one on the grounds that I was fed up beyond measure with Ten and would be happier in a timeline where he'd never managed to exist. I didn't get terribly far before Yuletide and assorted other commitments hit, but I may go back to it.
