BATB is my favorite fairy tale , I love the Disney movie but only because it's there, really... the de Beaumont story is fantastic, and I also love Robin McKinley's interpretations as well. And I hope one day I can write my own versions. So far I have a Victorian one (with airships!) started. (Only two scenes though! ...am lazy.)

Robin McKinley's Beauty is my favorite book ever. I'm a little obsessed. Rose Daughter was good, too, but Beauty is MINE. *clings* Did you know she has a LiveJournal? It's kind of adorable. She just talks about her hellhounds.

Maybe I will post the two scenes I have. :D It might inspire me to write some more of it. There are inheritance plots, a sole surviving captain of an dirigible mutiny, a way too industrialized London... and maybe Tesla, if I can work him in there too. :P

Beauty is simply beautiful, but I think I like Rose Daughter better. It took me a few reads to really get it, but I like the depth.

Robin McKinley has an LJ?? Where? That is adorable. LOL, she WOULD talk about her hellhounds. Last time I looked at her website it was all THINGS NOT TO SAY TO THE WRITERLY BITCH FROM HELL, MKAY?? Hee. Did you ever read her Damar books? I just did pretty much the most awesome and fun paper of my life on The Blue Sword about colonialism and hybridity.
