intrikate88So, anybody else getting excited about a new season of Dexter coming on soon? I saw the trailer, and it looks fucking badass. Julie Benz looks to have had a boob job/kid/new bra and I'm not sure what I think of Jennifer Carpenter's new haircut, but I'm sure she'll rock it.
However, what I'm more interested in seeing than how Rita fills out her blouses is the stuff that come out of last season's developments. First of all, how Dexter is now going to live his life, since he's discovered he can make himself what he wants to be and he doesn't have to follow Harry's Code any longer. I think Dexter's definitely hit a post-adolescent stage here, of figuring out how to be his own person, not just the product of and reaction to his parents (as we all do at a certain point of life.)
What will also be interesting to see is the evolution of his relationships. Rita is becoming a much stronger woman, less tolerant of putting up with bullshit. He's been dating her for a long time now- so now what? What is their next step to becoming closer?
Deb, also, has changed. Through the influences of Dexter, Rudy, and that FBI agent whose name escapes me at the moment, she believes in herself and knows how to stand up against whatever comes against her. She hasn't lost her loathing of easy lies, either- personally, I see her finding out soonish what Dexter is up to. If she doesn't already know. She demands to be close to him, so sooner or later she's going to bump into what's going on on the inside.
