So since I'm making this Doctor/Rose vid I'vehad to watch the Doomsday beach scene like fifty billion times for clips (and JEEZ it doesn't get any easier to watch, frak) I've started to wonder if maybe, in Rose's work starting with Torchwood in her new universe, if there were already indicators of the universe borders breaking. Because I think this is the sort of thing that would have been going on a while (since the Big Bang, if you want to get picky, since all of space is expanding so that everything it in moves away from everything else -TRUFAX- and all that spacetime fabric must be getting threadbare SOMEWHERE) so perhaps Rose had an idea that maybe, maybe, everything wasn't over yet.

That, and she had a huge habit of getting lost from the Doctor and always making her way back (theme of my vid) and so getting stuck in Pete's World? Kind of out of the norm.

ANYWAY, I think this is evidenced by something going on in the Doomsday!Beach!Conversion: SHE IS TOTALLY FUCKING WITH HIM, LIKE, THE WHOLE TIME. In between choking sobs, of course. But there's the pregnancy thing- she KNOWS what conclusion he's going to draw. That it's her baby. Which either says that they were going at it like bunnies by the time of "Fear Her" and he thinks that maybe he just made a single mum out of the love of his life, or he thinks she hooked up with Mickey and so his forehead wrinkles just a bit. And Rose lets him think all this for a moment!

And then she tells him she's working in a shop, KNOWING that of course, he's going to think she's awesome and support that if that's what she's doing. But you know if he'd actually been solid there she would have thumped him on the arm for believing that for a second.

So I don't know. Maybe the human mind just grasps for the humorous in desperate situations -gallows humor, you know, I'm as morbidly comedic as anything when it comes to heavy subjects- but I think that maybe she knew it wasn't the end. Because with two minutes left with the person you've loved more than anybody, even if you don't know what to say... there might be less or more.

Unless it's not over yet. (And it wasn't! heeeeeee. Snoggage, yay.)

OH GOD THE BEACH SCENE. I totally buy that it doesn't get any easier to watch. :/

But I like this read on it, and now that we know what happens, it's interesting ... and a little more lighthearted. Mm.

And Rose lets him think all this for a moment!

I LOVE THAT. I would too! :D :D ♥
