The Green Ribbon. First heard it in first grade and it just has such a lovely bit of creepyness and romance to it. Sometimes when I'm wearing a scarf wrapped around my neck I hope somebody will make a reference, but they usually don't.

I'd always heard it as The Yellow Ribbon (http://americanfolklore.net/folklore/2009/08/the_yellow_ribbon.html). And I was shocked when, twenty years later, I saw it published some where!
