It is totally ninamazing's birthday, y'all, so everyone should rush her all at once and pounce and scream happy birthday. Just saying.

Turns out updating with random stuff is harder when you haven't posted in a month or more and just posting I WANT MORE FROM ELENA'S STORY PLEEEEEEEASE will mostly result in YOU'RE BACK AND NOT DEAD CONGRATS.

Life's fine, work's fine, my scrambly brains are scrambly but fine, and I'm applying to grad school for next year, which everyone says is an insane thing to do with your life but since it was made clear to me (after it was made clear to, like, everyone else I knew) that grad school was to be My Destiny when I was about eighteen, it's really more like about damn time I stopped fucking around with trying to get a master's in Wales or whatever with no money and started getting one that I actually can get. 

Anyway. I'm around the internet, all day erry day, you know how to reach me.

I have lots of Thinky-Thoughts on Once Upon a Time, Nikita, The Vampire Diaries, Revenge, Elementary, Dexter, Natasha Romanoff, and Steve Rogers, so do let me know if you are interested and it would be worth my time to write them down.

And now, back to budgeting my non-existent money into a functional grocery list, since I have no food and haven't for awhile, because I, like Tony Stark and I think Sherlock Holmes and probably other people RDJ has played, believe that I can sustain myself on coffee alone.

I actually do a damn good job of it.

Sometimes! I mostly BFF-ship them because I have a lot of complicated feelings re: Natasha and sex and romance, but I really like how she and Steve have things that only they understand. Like what it's like to be a soldier. What it's like to never age while everyone you could love grows old and dies around you, and it's almost better that way, because the people who don't sometimes appear to die and so you can never, ever move on: every single wound is fresh, forever. They spend their time with these other people who are so, so young; Steve and Natasha are barely ten years apart, and they know hunger. Steve knows the Depression-era scarcity, and Natasha knows that the Soviet Union, once you step out of the shelter of the Party, shares its hunger and desperation equally among everyone. While the rest of the Avengers have carved out some homes for themselves, of given up on having them, Natasha and Steve both know that you can never really depend on coming back home, or even just the place you live, and see it still standing instead of a crater in the ground.

Their scars match up in a way that no one else's scars really do.

We should definitely talk Revenge sometime. I feel so bad for skipping out on LJ after you wrote that amazing comment on my latest reaction post which put a huge smile on my face. N/E ARE SO GLORIOUS THIS SEASON, I just don't know where to begin. The good news is, I'm doing better at being a senior lately, so getting back to your comment & writing my feels about the latest two eps as well as the upcoming flashback ep is at the top of my LJ priority list. I wish more of my LJ friends had overwhelming Revenge feelings, lol.

Maybe I should lay off Tumblr or something, it's so much easier to mindlessly hit reblog than it is to actually write down thoughts.

Revenge has been so good. I'm so glad that it's going to be on tonight, Thanksgiving disrupted my shows and that is just not cool. I have such mixed feelings about Padma and can't wait to see how that works out, although Ems hooking up with Aiden was not a popular move with me.

I've actually had to lay off Twitter for the past two days to catch up on LJ b/c apparently it's either one or the other. It's like your mind relaxes after a while when all it has to do is think of a 140 long comments & go on retweet sprees. LJ discussions require more effort, but they're also the ones giving you the most feelings! That said, I could never give Twitter up because my love Gabe lives there.

IA, the past week has been so empty w/o my shows, so I'm glad Revenge is back in my life tonight.

I AM SO CONFLICTED ABOUT PADMA b/c she seems to make Nolan very happy, but at the same time he's become far less cautious (wasn't alarmed at the DC check discovery & then very quickly forgave her for it in Illusion), and given how she tends to go behind his back, I have a bad feeling about them. I keep wanting him to do a deep background check on her, but he wouldn't even dream of it b/c hearts in his eyes.

I have 99 problems w/ Aiden/Emily because of his lies (I'm sure he conveniently failed to mention to Ems that it was HIM who ratted Nolan out to Dan) and his general reason for coming to the Hamptons: TO GUIDE EMILY BACK TO HER RIGHTEOUS PATH. I feel like he's in it for the mission, not b/c he cares for her and has ~changed (as if).

Well, I think that Nolan is seeing some big shadows behind those giant hearts blocking his vision, so I look forward to seeing how that all goes down. I think she has a story and some interests of her own, and knowing this show they're probably more complicated than we expect.

Aiden, on the other hand, came into town with an agenda that Emily made it very clear she was not going along with, she's made him unwelcome, and then he keeps going around interfering in her business, lying about it, endangering people she cares about, etc. And he's supposed to be her guiding light and comfort, but I'm just ready to see her dump him. In the sea.
