intrikate88George Wickham doesn't deserve any of the space I grant him on here, but w/e.
So. We finally get to hear Gigi's story, finally get to know what else was in Darcy's letter. I'm glad that he didn't do something big and dramatic, didn't have a giant drug cartel that Gigi nearly took the fall for, nothing like that. He just... left. He knew she was an easy target, he knew Darcy wouldn't want him around, he knew Gigi well enough to charm her and make her think he was genuine, and then when he was found out, he took the money, called Gigi a peach, and left. Like she was nothing.
And in the process he robbed her of trust, robbed her of a hobby she enjoyed, robbed her of innocence. Didn't think twice.
Now, Lydia. Same game, same charm, same effortless framing of the world in his view where Lydia is going to be the terrible person who breaks his heart, so she can't even think of leaving him, where he's the only person who thinks good things of Lydia, where she doesn't talk to anyone but him. All while looking pretty and kissing pretty and saying pretty things, and Lydia dresses in shapeless grey and abandons the makeup she loved playing with.
Is he looking for another payout, because he saw Darcy proclaim his love for Lizzie and he knows "Darcy take care of the people he cares about"? Or does he dislike Lizzie for telling the world he's a con man? Because it looks like his preferred mode of revenge is "I'm gonna fuck your sister".

And now she's with George, and... they're NOT having sex? That's really out of character for Lydia. Like, to the point where I'm wondering if that's some of George controlling her life, convincing her that she uses one night stands to avoid intimacy with guys so therefore he won't have sex with her until she's all his. I don't know if that's exactly the explanation, but I am pretty certain Lydia would go ahead and have sex, George has no qualms about what ladies he fucks, and Lydia is ceding more and more control to him, so I'm thinking them not having sex is all on him. And there's a specific reason for it.)
