Doctor Who thoughts

It just occurred to me that the Eighth Doctor was the one who made Gallifrey go all 'splodey. Not that I didn't know that before, but I guess I never thought about it- that silly man who couldn't quite figure out how to kiss Grace or whatever the doctor-lady's name was and who rode around San Francisco on a motorcycle and wore Edwardian suits while tramping around an antique library of a TARDIS, who somehow got random Asian gangsters involved in the Time War was the Doctor that went and destroyed Gallifrey and all the timelords. I have trouble processing that- I don't think of Eight as being capable of that. Maybe Nine would be, even though we saw in PotW that he wasn't, and we know that Ten would do it, obviously.

Is it vain to want to print and frame some of my fanart and hang it in my room? It's just I really like some of what I've been working on lately and should probably adapt it into something useful. I'm especially fond of the wallpaper below, because it looks like it was painted, sort of a fresco effect. I'll make another post or two with Rose and Doctor wallpapers in the next few days.



My Ten/Inara fic is finally getting moving! Hopefully I will be able to finish it today and post it for you all soon. Just one more chapter, folks, hang in there.

ETA: Also, I just watched a vid with clips from LotTL and figured out that the last two eps of season three was a complicated way for Russell to say "SLASH PLZKTHX." Make that last three, if you want to count Jack too.

I can't imagine Eight doing the splodey of Gallifrey either, it's so weird.

GAH. You are so right about the Time War. How the fuck DID Eight manage to be the one to press that button? (And, yeah, obviously Ten would have done it, especially post-Rose!Ten. He's the most adorable Doctor that ever was, but that man is SCARY.) I just hope there's got to be something in the audios because that one television movie isn't a lot to go on.

I know, right? I just can't see him doing that. Admittedly, the movie was crack and I couldn't pay too much attention to it without wincing (especially the way they tried to use electroshock paddles somewhere in the vicinity of his liver. What?) but Eight is... well, not ballsy and fucked up enough yet. Now I want to know what happened.
