The concert at the Red Light Cafe, featuring Juliana Finch, Sarah Peacock, and Gerlinda Grimes last night was a great time. Sadly I missed Gerlinda Grimes -her set was just finishing as we walked in- but Juliana was great. I got a chance to talk to her after the show; thunderemerald , I told her about how you had told me about her and "Glass Heart" (though I didn't mention the characters in your book, which I'm sure she would have been flattered to hear) and acquaintance we share in Sara Crawford. Her set was great, she played this medley of English murder ballads, a song about a widow that was really sweet, and, for her last song, an X-Files tribute: "David Duchovney, why don't you love me, why don't you love me?"

I suspect I need to hunt down any copy of that song for ninamazing .

So it was a good evening. Thanks so much for letting me know about her, thunderemerald !

That is so awesome! If you wanted to tell her the FULL story, it is this: So my friend Lindsay has this boss who went to Falcon Ridge, and picked up your CD even though he didn't see your set because the cover art looked cool. He loved it enough that he bought Lindsay a copy too, and Lindsay loved it enough that she posted (legal?) mp3s of it on her blog, andI downloaded, and here I am!

That's so awesome that she was good live! YAY!
